Nordic Festival for Young Contemporary Art

Platform Nord is a festival and meeting place for Nordic young artists age 18 to 30. The festival takes place in Kristiansand (NO) from 9th to 13th October 2019 and presents up to 10 projects to the public.
PN call for projects from all artistic expressions: Performing and visual arts including performance, theatre, dance, music, literature, film, installations, photography and more. Projects transcending different art forms, and creative expressions that explore new ways of mediation are especially welcome.

Opening night on Wednesday 9th October 2019 you will experience ten new art projects by young Nordic artists. The diversity in expression is large and includes, contemporary dance, performing arts, music, photography, video, installations and sculptures.

...is a Danish Artist and Designer working with a broad spectrum in music, fashion-design, costume-design, scenography and in visual Arts. He is Professor at Danish School of Design, with a degree from Central Saint Martins.

Jóna Hlíf Halldórsdóttir

...is MFA from Glasgow 2007. Jóna Hlíf work as a professional artist and also as Chairman of the Board at the Association of Icelandic Visual Artists. Her work and exhibitions have consisted of mixed medium, building on elements from photographs, video, sculpture and installations. Textual art has been the core of her Artistic expression for the past few years.

Kurt Johannessen

My name is Kurt Johannessen. I am an artist educated at Vestlandets Kunstakademi and Slade School of Fine Art. I live in Bergen and work mainly with performance art, drawing, books and text.

Travel and accommodation

All invited to participate will get travel and accommodation covered by PN. The symposium offers masterclasses and workshops for all participants.

Presentation and audience

On participation you get to show your work in a Nordic context. PN is open to a regular audience, as well as established artists, critics, curators and more.

Develop as an artist

PN is a place where you can develop as an artist. You get individual responses to your work from professional artists, and together with the other participants there will be workshops and other opportunities to spark new creative partnerships and networks.
